The AI Survey Creator plugin lets you generate a complete LimeSurvey survey from a plain-text prompt in seconds. Type a description of the survey you need, watch five AI agents work through it in real time, then import the finished survey into LimeSurvey with one click — no manual question-building required.

Five agents run automatically in sequence:

• LimeSurvey 6.0+ or 7.0+ (self-hosted)
• PHP 7.4 – 8.2
• An active Highskills AI API account (see Get your API credentials below)
• Outbound HTTPS access from your LimeSurvey server to the Highskills middleware

To use this plugin you need an API URL and an API key issued by Highskills.

To get your activation endpoint and API key, please complete the setup process here.

We will send you:

• Your personal Middleware API URL (includes your tenant key), e.g.
  https://ai.highskills.com/api/xxxxxxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxxxxxxxxxx
• Your API key (Bearer token)

Copy the entire limesurvey_ai_surveycreator/ folder into the plugins/ directory of your LimeSurvey installation:

Important: The folder name must match the class name exactly — limesurvey_ai_surveycreator.

1. Log in to LimeSurvey as a superadmin.
2. Go to Configuration → Plugin Manager.
3. Find limesurvey_ai_surveycreator in the list.
4. Click Install, then switch the toggle to Active.

1. Click the Settings (gear) icon next to the plugin.

2. Fill in the following fields:

   Field	Description
   Middleware API URL	The full URL including your tenant key, e.g. https://ai.highskills.co.il/api/your-tenant-key
   API key	The Bearer token provided by Highskills
   Default number of questions	How many questions to pre-fill on the generator page (1–100, default 20)

3. Click Save.

1. Click AI Survey Generator in the admin navigation bar.
2. Click Test connection — you should see ✓ Connected.

If the test fails, double-check the API URL and key, and ensure your server can reach the Highskills middleware over HTTPS.

1. Click AI Survey Generator in the admin navigation bar.
2. Type a description of the survey you want to create in the Survey prompt field.
   Example: "A customer satisfaction survey for a software product."
3. Set the Number of questions (default from plugin settings).
4. Click Generate and watch the five agents complete their work in real time.
5. If there are any validation warnings, review them in the expandable panel — they are usually minor and the survey can still be imported.
6. Click Import as New Survey to add the survey to your LimeSurvey installation.
7. You will be redirected to the survey editor automatically.
